| I had never heard of a robber fly and I mistakenly called this a dragon fly. But never the less this is one of the most vicious looking insects I have ever seen. Especially when magnified at a macro level. Wondering what that is beneath it? It is a moth it has captured and eating. This insect stayed perfectly still as long as I was taking pictures of it. Then when I moved away it fly off. Not sure if it was just being bold or trying to go undetected.

Robber Fly Eating – Great macro shot! The smaller life on this earth are absolutely amazing to photograph. I have a shot of a Bumble Bee Robber Fly, which looks like a gargantuan black and white fly! I find macro photography fascinating! Rgds Marianne (South Africa)
